When is the best time to paraglide in Kyrgyzstan?
September. Stable air, high visibility, thermals still strong enough for distance, the lake still warm — and the Alpine season is over, so you are not choosing Kyrgyzstan instead of Annecy.
In detail
For a first tandem flight: April to early June, or September to mid-October. Smooth air, cool temperatures, and the highest chance the flight actually happens.
For cross-country: June to September, with September the month we would pick ourselves. July has the highest cloudbase of the year and the most violent afternoons — big distances get flown then and so does most of the drama. September trades a little lift for stability, visibility and a much better flyable-day ratio.
There is a strategic reason September matters more than the weather explains. The Kyrgyz season is almost exactly the Alpine season, so a European pilot choosing July here is choosing it instead of Bassano. By September the Alps are closing and Kyrgyzstan is at its best, which is the one window where this country is not competing with somewhere three hours from your house.
November to March there is no thermal season at all.
