How do I get to Karakol, and to the launches?
Bishkek Manas (FRU) is the airport. Karakol is 6–7 hours by road, Suusamyr 3. Launch transfers are included in every product we sell.
In detail
Fly into Bishkek Manas (FRU), with connections through Istanbul, Dubai, Almaty or Moscow. Almaty (ALA) is the alternative and often cheaper — it is four hours from Bishkek by road across a land border, and it is also where our Kazakhstan operation is, which is why the two-country trip exists.
From Bishkek: Karakol is six to seven hours on the northern shore road, Suusamyr about three over the Töö-Ashuu pass, Chon-Tash forty-five minutes. Shared minibuses run to Karakol and are cheap and slow; a private transfer is the sane option with a wing bag.
Every product on this site includes the transfer to the launch and back, and the pilot programmes include airport pickup at Manas. The reason we bundle it rather than selling it separately is that the drive is where a badly organised trip actually falls apart — not at the launch.
