Can I bring my own wing, and what about gear transport?
Yes — the pilot programmes assume your own equipment. Fly into Bishkek Manas (FRU), declare the bag as sports equipment, pack the reserve in the bag. We move and store bags between Bishkek, Karakol and Suusamyr.

The pilot programmes assume you bring your own wing, harness, reserve and instrument; we do not rent flying equipment to visiting pilots.
Getting it here: Bishkek Manas (FRU) with connections through Istanbul, Dubai, Almaty and Moscow. Airline handling of paraglider bags is the usual lottery. Practical advice that comes from doing this repeatedly: declare it as sports equipment rather than hiding it, put the reserve inside the bag rather than in the cabin, and photograph the packed bag before check-in.
Once here, the distances are large — Bishkek to Karakol is six to seven hours, Bishkek to Suusamyr three — and a 16 kg bag on your knees in a shared minibus is a bad afternoon. We move bags between all three on our vehicles, and we store them between two trips in the same season, which is frequently cheaper than paying excess baggage twice. Condition is photographed on hand-in and hand-out. We are not an insurer of stored equipment and we put that in writing rather than leaving it vague.
